In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego stood for truth in a culture, and against a government that was hostile to their values. They were willing to go into the fire if necessary. God didn't spare them the FROM the furnace but He was with them IN the fire. In today's culture, standing for truth may be challenging. The world around us is hostile to the Word of God and to biblical values. But we are called to be salt and light. (Matthew 5: 13-16) God has placed us at this time in history on purpose and for a purpose. Join us as we get better equipped to address civics and culture from a biblical worldview.

When Compassion Replaces Conviction w/ Alison Furno
This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Alison Furno, girls' volleyball coach, former collegiate athlete, and previous co-host of Into the Fire.
Alison, Debi and Sam talk about the importance of sports for girls and why it is worth fighting to protect female only sports. They explain some of the updates in the battle over Title IX both at both the federal and state levels.
They discuss how compassion has been weaponized, especially against Christian women. Those pushing values that are contrary to the gospel frame them as being compassionate and loving like Jesus. Sam, Alison and Debi talk about the importance of standing for both truth and love, especially as women.
Alison also shares an initiative called SALT that she and Debi work with that provides simple monthly civics lessons and community engagement for small groups of believers.
