In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego stood for truth in a culture, and against a government that was hostile to their values. They were willing to go into the fire if necessary. God didn't spare them the FROM the furnace but He was with them IN the fire. In today's culture, standing for truth may be challenging. The world around us is hostile to the Word of God and to biblical values. But we are called to be salt and light. (Matthew 5: 13-16) God has placed us at this time in history on purpose and for a purpose. Join us as we get better equipped to address civics and culture from a biblical worldview.

How Nonprofits are Better than Government Programs w/ Angel Barnett
This week, Debi and guest co-host Sam Oriza are joined by Angel Barnett, CEO of Dream Institute
Debi, Sam and Angel discuss Dream Institute and the work that is being done to help women and children in need. Dream Institute includes the Short Creek Dream Center which is rescuing families from religious abuse and from familial trafficking in the form of child marriage and polygamy. Dream Institute also includes the Living Hope Dream Center which functions as a pregnancy care home and transitional housing for single moms.
Pastor Angel also talks about various seasons of her life from growing up in a business environment to becoming a pastor's wife and raising children to stepping into new and unfamiliar territory to help launch and then support the incredible initiatives of Dream Institute.
They also discuss how non-profits and church programs like these do more for communities, with higher success rates for less money than government programs and how different political administrations either help or hinder the work of the church.
